A place to visit, and a place to live
Saint-Honorat is home to the community of Lérins Abbey. Visitors can discover the church, chapels and fortified monastery. The monastic living quarters are not open to visits.
Be discreet near prayer spaces, respect private areas and cultivated land. The stop is more rewarding when you enjoy the island’s own pace rather than treating every corner as a photo setting.
Plan the destination rather than forcing it
Plan an outing towards Saint-Honorat with the team according to your rental option. A short crossing to Sainte-Marguerite does not mean the whole archipelago takes the same time. Allow for breaks and return.
If you are a beginner, mention your interest in the abbey during the briefing. The team can help you choose a suitable full-day plan or a simpler outing. There is no need to visit both islands on your first trip.
Make the stop a real discovery
Bring comfortable footwear and suitable clothing if you plan to enter a religious building. Check the abbey’s official website for fortified monastery visiting arrangements and practical information.
A coastal walk, lunch and views of the tower can make a lovely stop. Take your rubbish back and keep time for the return crossing. Kayaking offers freedom when you remain aware of your plan.
